Prosecutors’ offices of Paraguay and Bolivia sign cooperation agreement

ASSUMPTION. During the 35th Specialized Meeting of Public Ministries of Mercosur (Rempm), an inter-institutional cooperation agreement was signed between the Public Ministry of Paraguay and Bolivia. It is a milestone for the region, highlighted the State Attorney General, Emiliano Rolón.

“The mission of criminal prosecution and criminal investigation forces us to take other angles in this new system, in this new order, which particularly affects the Public Ministries of the region,” he expressed after signing the agreement with his counterpart, Juan Lanchipa Ponce. .

The agreement establishes a framework for the exchange of experiences, good practices and training, as well as collaboration in criminal investigations and criminal procedures. Principles of independence and autonomy are prioritized, strengthening international cooperation.

Furthermore, the agreement between both attorneys general promotes the modernization of collaboration mechanisms and the implementation of early warning systems to combat organized crime and money laundering, in line with current international conventions.
