Prosecutors arrest head of criminal gang in the US

The Prosecutor’s Office has managed to arrest the leader of ‘Los Killers de Ventanilla’ in the United States, responsible for the death of a police officer

The Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office of Northwest Limafrom Team 3, has achieved the international capture of Gianfranco Martín Torres Navarro, identified as the leader of the criminal organization ‘The Ventanilla Killers‘. The arrest took place on August 14 in New York State, United States, based on international arrest warrants and a red alert issued by Interpol.

This action responds to the preliminary detention order of 15 days issued against Torres Navarro and his partner, MSIOUat the request of the aforementioned prosecutor’s office, with the support of Paul Salamon, attaché of the Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the Embassy of the United States in Peru.

It is important to note that on July 12, the Prosecutor’s Office filed a request with the corresponding court for 36 months of preventive detention for both individuals, for the alleged commission of crimes against public tranquility in the form of criminal organization and other related crimesto the detriment of the State and individuals.

According to investigations, both suspects illegally entered the United States by crossing the border between Texas and Mexico On May 16, they were arrested that same day and notified that they had to appear for an immigration procedure before the Immigration and Customs Service. United States Customs Enforcement (ICE).

With this arrest, the suspect was ordered to be admitted to the Buffalo Detention Centerwhile his partner remains detained in the Pennsylvania Processing Center.

This criminal organization is accused of the alleged qualified homicide of retired police officer César Pascual Quegua Herrera, which occurred on March 27, 2024 at the restaurant ‘The Trunk’in the San Miguel district, where he worked as a security agent.

According to the fiscal investigation, two men arrived on a motorcycle in front of the restaurant and, after shoot three times at point-blank range, they escaped from the place.

Witnesses seeking to assist in the investigation indicated that the attack was aimed at an individual known as ‘Engineer Cañejo Seminar’a high-ranking construction site extortionist, who was injured during the incident.
