Towards Patriotic Hygiene Day to improve people’s health, the Ministry of Health recommends promoting propaganda to raise awareness and health-related behaviors such as hygiene to prevent epidemics and food safety; Eat clean, drink clean, live clean; Maintain hygiene, environmental landscape…
Information from the Ministry of Health said that the Ministry has just sent an official dispatch to the People’s Committees of provinces and cities, ministries, branches, organizations and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on instructions for organizing activities in response to the Patriotic Hygiene Day to improve people’s health and the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health.
Accordingly, each province and centrally-run city chooses a typical location to organize a launching rally, responding to the participation of departments, branches, organizations, authorities at all levels, students and people of all walks of life to propagate and raise awareness and behavior to properly resolve health-related hygiene issues such as hygiene to prevent epidemics and food safety;
Eat clean, drink clean, live clean; Collect and do not throw trash indiscriminately, maintain hygiene and environmental landscape; Build and use hygienic latrines without open defecation; Build hygienic barns and move livestock and poultry barns away from the house; Building Green – Clean – Beautiful medical facilities, ensuring hygiene in schools, production and business establishments, agencies, service areas, tourist areas, and public places;
At the same time, organize environmental sanitation campaigns, clean sanitation facilities in public places, tourist areas, hospitals, medical facilities, schools, workplaces, …; Organize military campaigns and mobilize the entire population to clean village roads and alleys, build a civilized lifestyle and cultural families associated with the movement “All people build new rural areas”.
The Ministry of Health also requests the People’s Committees of provinces and cities, ministries, branches, organizations and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to propagate and widely disseminate on mass media ( local newspapers, radio, television…), hang banners, posters, distribute documents and leaflets with objectives and content related to personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, and use of clean local water.
At the same time, organize and launch competitions in response to the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health in residential areas, schools, agencies and offices. Direct medical facilities in the area to participate in the “Green – Clean – Beautiful Medical Facility” competition according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, the Ministry of Health also added that, to carry out the tasks assigned by the Government in Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP of the Government dated June 5, 2024, the Ministry of Health organizes and guides the implementation of activities. Responding to Patriotic Hygiene Day to improve people’s health, implementing the 2024 Movement such as:
Organizing a rally in response to Patriotic Hygiene Day to improve people’s health in Dak Nong;
Strengthen communication activities focusing on contents related to personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, clean water use, food safety and hygiene, household toilet construction, hygiene in medical facilities, educational facilities, workplaces, tourist areas, services and communities;
Organize and launch competitions “Green – Clean – Beautiful Medical Facilities”;
On June 19, 2012, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 730/QD-TTg on taking July 2 every year as Patriotic Hygiene Day to improve people’s health; on November 26, 2012, the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 29/CT-TTg on implementing the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health.
Implementing the Prime Minister’s Directive, every year the Ministry of Health has coordinated with the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities and ministries, branches and central organizations to direct and coordinate with health sector units to deploy the contents of the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health.
Hand washing is an effective measure to prevent disease.
During the 2012-2023 period, the Ministry of Health coordinated with ministries, branches, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and People’s Committees of provinces and cities nationwide to direct health units and departments to effectively organize and implement activities in response to Patriotic Hygiene Day and the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health.
The practical activities of the Patriotic Hygiene Movement to improve people’s health have contributed to supporting localities in achieving the goals of the National Target Programs, programs and projects on disease prevention, food safety and hygiene, construction of household latrines, hygiene in medical facilities, educational facilities, workplaces, tourist and service areas.
