DIGIAGE 2.0 Forum, where new programs that will shape the gaming industry were introduced, was held in Informatics Valley.
The event, held to introduce the acceleration program that will offer an innovative approach for the Turkish gaming ecosystem, brought together game developers, investors, entrepreneurs and public stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, Bilişim Vadisi General Manager Erkam Tüzgen said that the gaming sector is among the fastest growing sectors in the world and has a market volume of over 200 billion dollars.
Stating that the gaming industry is a rapidly transforming ecosystem, Tüzgen said, “As a country, we can participate in the technology development race in the world, especially in areas where technology is transforming, and we can achieve leading positions in these areas. We see the gaming industry as one of these.”
Tüzgem stated that individuals or teams can apply to the DIGIAGE program and said, “A music teacher, scriptwriter or graphic designer can apply here. They receive training, establish their team, support them in establishing their company, and if they are successful, they receive investment. Therefore, a scriptwriter and music teacher can come and graduate as a member of a game company that has received investment in the DIGIAGE program. We started and implemented the program in Turkey. Later, we exported and implemented it in Azerbaijan. Now, we will implement this program in the Balkans.”
“The gaming industry is of critical importance”
Muhammet Bilal Macit, General Manager of R&D Incentives of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, noted that the commercialization volume of the gaming sector in Turkey is around 1.4 billion dollars.
Emphasizing that the gaming sector is of critical importance, Macit said, “650 companies in our TECHNOPARKS operate only on gaming. Our 12 R&D design centers are conducting studies on gaming.”
Referring to the support given to the gaming industry, Macit said, “We are pleased to see that the gaming industry is growing, internationalizing and commercializing with the multiplier effect of the support given.”
After the speeches, Tüzgen and Macit took photos with game developers, investors, entrepreneurs and public stakeholders.
