Professor launches scientific work on “Introduction to Biochemistry”

“Introduction to Biochemistry” is the university professor’s third work João Simba David, launched on August 29th, in the Auditorium of the Instituto Superior Internacional de Angola (ISIA), in Luanda.

The work, according to the author, who spoke to Notícias de Angola, portrays biochemical processes, from the cellular to the molecular level, the study of aqueous systems, proteins as well as the expression of genetic information.

Nucleic acids, with greater emphasis on DNA, as a support for genetic information, as well as metabolic processes are part of the 161-page book edited by BC LIVTEC.

João David made it known that the book will serve as a basis for many other areas of medicine, such as physiology, pharmacology, pathology and microbiology.

Third-year Nursing student António Ribeiro praised author João David’s initiative, and asked other teachers to follow his example to improve teaching and learning.

João Simba David is a professor-doctor with a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Moscow-Russia.

He teaches at the Engineering faculties of the Agostinho Neto University (UAN) and the University of Belas (Uni-belas), as well as at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Internacional de Angola (ISIA).

He is currently an assistant researcher at the Agricultural Research Institute (IIA).
