A number of Moroccan directors have begun filming tragic and comedic productions to be ready for screening during the upcoming television season, including the Ramadan season. Filming locations in various Moroccan cities have received a group of celebrities and technical crews to film the scenes, while some previously filmed works have entered the packaging stage to be ready and enhance the programming network.
In the past few days, Moroccan director Adel Al-Fadili has started filming a new series produced by “Spectop” company, which is expected to be shown on Channel One. It stars Moroccan actress Mona Fettou and actor Mohamed Khayi, along with singer Ibtissam Tiskat, and others. It is titled “Khat Al-Raj’a”, and is expected to be scheduled for showing during the Ramadan 2025 season.
Moroccan actress Noura Al-Saqli reunites with her colleague Samia Akriou, alongside Jawad Lahlo, in a drama series that bears their signature in terms of script and dialogue, entitled “Al-Sharqi wal-Gharbi”, and is currently being filmed under the direction of Moroccan director Shawqi Al-Aoufir.
The story of the work revolves around conflicts between families, and it also highlights a group of social issues and topics of love, treachery, betrayal, and family relationships. It stars a group of Moroccan drama stars.
In turn, Moroccan director Jihan Bahar is preparing to film a new drama series titled “Ana W Yak” (Me and You), in partnership with Nada Al-Sharqawi. The series is written by Nadia Kamali, and will feature actress Amal Ayouch, Moroccan actor Ayoub Abu Al-Nasr and a group of fellow artists. It is expected to be shown on Channel One as part of the regular television programming.
Moroccan director Danny Youssef is also preparing to film a new TV series based on a script by his wife, writer Faten Al-Yousfi, entitled “The Road of the Lycée,” and will feature Sandia Tajeddine, Rabie Al-Saqali, and other names.
For her part, Moroccan screenwriter and director Lamis Khairat finished filming scenes for a new television series in Casablanca a few days ago. She supervised the writing of the script with Abdullah Al-Abdawi and Bushra Balwad. It is produced by “Image Factory” and is titled “Khadija Caftan.”
This drama series consists of 30 episodes and sheds light on the story of a young woman named Laila, who is driven by a sudden financial crisis that her wealthy family is exposed to, to work in the field of designing and manufacturing Moroccan caftan, thus returning to her grandmother’s profession and translating her love for the caftan that reminds her of the beautiful past, and she finds that she discovers the creative side of her personality.
