The prime minister’s battalion yard is flooded in the north of Rio
Vehicles of the military police and the federal traffic police were under water in the northern area. The 9th BPM (Rocha Miranda) and the PRF Superintendency were some of the locations affected by heavy rains on Saturday and early Sunday morning (14th). Seven deaths were confirmed as of 1.25pm.
In Rocha Miranda, in the Northern Zone, where the battalion is located, part of the building was flooded. The prime minister, in a statement, specifies that he is carrying out an investigation to find out what the losses were.

A flood also occurred in the PRF superintendency. However, the company said that only material damage occurred.
According to the Rio Operations Center, the Pavuna, Acari, Quitungo and Cachorros rivers have overflowed. They are all located in areas close to the Battalion and the Superintendency.

One of the state’s main roads was closed for almost 8 hours. In Irajá, Avenida Brasil was flooded and was only reopened in both directions around 11.35am. Rio entered phase 4, out of five possible, at 2.35am.
The rains caused problems on metro line 2: Pavuna, Engenheiro Rubens Paiva, Acari Fazenda Botafogo and Coelho Neto stations were temporarily closed early Sunday morning.
The concessionaire has temporarily started operating on line 2 between Colégio and General Osório/Ipanema stations, in the South Zone. Lines 1 and 4, according to Metrô Rio, are operating normally.
On the Supervia, the Oswaldo Cruz station was closed due to flooding.
Other neighborhoods in the north, such as Pavuna, Acari, Madureira and Irajá, also recorded heavy rainfall and the Pavuna, Acari, Quitungo and Cachorros rivers overflowed. In Pavuna, in the Northern Zone, an operational base of the Municipality has been set up to serve the residents.
