El Salvador is once again an example for the world with the lowest murder rate in all of Latin America and the Caribbean by closing 2023 with 2.4 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.
The data was shared by the president of the republic, Nayib Bukele, through his social networks, after publishing the results of a report prepared by “Statista”, a German portal specialized in global statistics on various topics, such as economy, health, security, population, tourism, etc.
“STATISTA has just published the homicide rates in Latin America for 2023, placing El Salvador in last place in the table,” published the Salvadoran president.
The president also projected that, if this downward trend continues, the homicide rate by 2024 would be even further down. “SPOILER ALERT: The homicide rate for 2024 is trending even further down,” Bukele published.
The Minister of Defense, René Francis Merino Monroy, also took up President Bukele’s publication and gave “thanks to God” for such an important result.
