Editorial Forja presents “The Silence of Irene”, the new novel by María Eugenia Lorenzini. It will be presented by Marcelo Simonetti and Ana Josefa Silva.

“The consciousness of a man imprisoned in a useless body evokes an existence marked by the name of a woman: Irene. Did he never dare to live? Did life pass him by?” This is how the writer Pablo Azócar describes the novel.

The story begins when Alejandro wakes up in a hospital bed, completely immobile and incommunicado, facing a heartbreaking situation. As his mind is immersed in dreams and memories, present and past alternate to transport the reader from a dramatic reality to the moments full of passion and youth that he shared with Irene, his great love.

The book “interests, captivates and surprises the reader again and again, and presents a different vision of a transcendent topic that so many writers have tried to address, very few with the excellent results that this author achieves,” highlights the renowned journalist and writer Antonio Rojas Gomez.

María Eugenia Lorenzini P. is a prominent Chilean writer, Spanish professor and Master in Management and Administration.
