Preparing Dedi Mulyadi’s Competitors, PDIP Considers Ono Surono and Rieke Diah Pitaloka in West Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA – PDIP is considering internal cadres to advance as Dedi Mulyadi’s competitors in the 2024 West Java Gubernatorial Election (Pilgub). At least there are internal cadres being considered to advance in West Java gubernatorial election .

The two are the Chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD, Ono Surono and Member of the DPR Commission VI PDIP Faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka.

“Then in West Java, of course we know that there are superior cadres from PDIP, especially Mas Ono Surono who is the DPD Chair, there is also Mbak Rieke Diah Pitaloka of course, and there are other names that we are still looking at,” said Chico when contacted, Wednesday (7/8/2024).

Along with that, PDIP is still exploring political communication with other parties. He continued that PDIP wants to nominate internal cadres as both gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates.

“So we also want to and are currently doing exercises, simulating names and looking at the possibilities for who is most suitable and has a chance to win if we nominate from within,” said Chico.

However, Chico explained that PDIP did not close the door to establishing cooperation with other parties. He also said that his party would not insist on its internal cadres becoming gubernatorial candidates.

“It could also be a deputy governor candidate. However, of course we have not yet decided on this because we have not yet decided on the name we are nominating,” explained Chico.

For your information, the parties from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus have agreed to nominate Dedi Mulyadi alias Demul as a prospective candidate for Governor of West Java 2024-2029. Meanwhile, the prospective deputy governor candidate accompanying Demul will be filled by a figure from the Golkar Party.

As is known, the nomination of Dedi Mulyadi as Bacagub of West Java is said to have received the blessing of Golkar General Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto. The Head of the Election Winning Team for Java Region 1 (DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten) of the Golkar Party, MQ Iswara said that this was the result of an agreement between political parties in the KIM coalition.

“As conveyed by Mr. Airlangga, this is the result of discussions between KIM who will be the Candidate for Governor of West Java, Mr. Demul and his deputy from the Golkar Party,” said Iswara, Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Dedi Mulyadi is a former Purwakarta Regent who currently serves as a member of the DPR. Dedi is currently listed as a Gerindra politician after leaving Golkar last year.
