The interests of the National Office for the Sanitary Safety of Food Products (UNSA) revealed that no product related to infant formula under the brand “BABYBIO” was marketed due to the possible presence of cereulide, which is produced by Bacillus cereus bacteria.

The interests of the National Office revealed that no product subject to the recall was marketed in Morocco following an international notification regarding the preventive withdrawal of some batches of milk products intended for infants from the BABYBIO brand.

The same departments recorded that following the international notification, the National Office for Sanitary Safety of Food Products (UNSA) conducted the necessary investigations and took appropriate measures.

According to the data provided, after a careful review of the import documents, only two batches were imported into Morocco, which were seized and destroyed under the supervision of the competent departments of the National Office for Sanitary Safety of Food Products, before any product subject to the recall was put on the national market.

According to the same source, three batches of milk products from the brands “NAN OPTIPRO” and “NAN CONFORT” were subject to a voluntary precautionary withdrawal by the company concerned, to be seized and destroyed in accordance with the applicable procedures.

The National Office for Sanitary Safety of Food Products has strengthened automatic monitoring at the level of transit points for imported dairy products of the same type.
