Pran Dairy Limited has received the Standard Chartered-Channel i Krishi Padak-2023 in recognition of its unique contribution in the field of agriculture. The Minister of Fisheries and Livestock presented the award to Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and chief executive of Pran-RFL Group, in a hotel in the capital on Friday evening. Abdur Rahman.
This year 11 individuals and organizations were awarded the Standard Chartered-Channel I Agriculture Medal. Pran Dairy Limited received this medal as the best agricultural exporter.
Channel I Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, Director and Head of News Shaikh Siraj, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nasser Ejaz Vijay and other awardees and related officials of the organization were also present at the event.
In 2001, Pran Dairy, a subsidiary of Pran Group, started working to increase milk production in the country. Pran Dairy introduced the first ‘Dairy Hub’ system in the country. Under these hubs, Pran Dairy has been directly training and assisting farmers by establishing small ‘Milk Collection Centers’ in different parts of the country and collecting milk from them.
Later, the milk collected from the farmers is produced and marketed in the country and abroad. Presently Pran Dairy is working towards achieving self-sufficiency in the dairy industry in the country and creating a huge market for dairy products abroad. Apart from this, Pran is producing and marketing various products including dairy juice and drinks, biscuits and bakery, frozen snacks, confectionery and other products in the country and abroad.
