MAJALENGKA – A total of 757 middle class students from class XXXII IPDN -The Ministry of Home Affairs is ready to assist Majalengka Regency in making the poverty and stunting alleviation program a success. Their presence was in the context of implementing Internship Practice III for 21 days.

The theme raised in this activity was “Through Internship III, We Validate Poverty Data to Help the Majalengka Regional Government in Efforts to Accelerate Poverty Handling”.

The students who carry out internships are students from the applied Indonesian studies program, economic development and empowerment study program, civil service police practice study program, population and civil registration study program, regional government administration study program, public sector human resource management study program, and government information engineering technology study program.

Chancellor of the Institute for Domestic Government (IPDN) Prof. Hadi Prabowo said that Majalengka Regency, according to BPS data, has a percentage of poor people of 11.21% in 2023.

“Based on data from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction in 2023, extreme poverty in Majalengka is 414,722 people out of a population of 1.3 million people. Then based on verification data, the extreme poverty figure of 18,863 does not receive social assistance because it is not included in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS),” he said, Thursday (13/6/2024).

Praja was placed in Majalengka to help validate and verify electronic-based poverty data. “This is very important because praja will later become ASN and as ASN they must be able to support the national policy agenda, especially in reducing poverty,” he said.

IPDN is collaborating with the West Java BKKBN to support the stunting awareness student program initiated by the BKKBN. “This activity is focused on 3 sub-districts, namely Majalengka, Jatiwangi, Kertajati sub-districts. This program is also an illustration of the implementation of the IPDN Higher Education Tridharma in terms of community service,” said Hadi.

The Chancellor of IPDN also reminded all students who take part in internship activities to demonstrate attitudes and behavior that pay attention to ethics, politeness and friendliness when interacting with the local community.

The Acting Regent of Majalengka, Dedi Supandi, who was present at the opening ceremony of Internship III, accompanied by the Police Chief and other Forkopimda officials, enthusiastically welcomed the implementation of this internship.

“The IPDN Praja is expected to be a trigger in helping to validate data, especially regarding poverty data in Majalengka. Later the data they collect will be processed and then input into the Bangkit application,” he said.

Apart from Majalengka Regency, the implementation of Internship III was also carried out in Cirebon City. There were 354 apprentices who carried out internships there.

Different from Majalengka, the internship practice in Cirebon City carries the theme “Through Digitalization of Important Applications, We Improve Reconciliation of Stunting Data in Cirebon City”. The prajas in charge come from 3 study programs, namely the public finance study program, the public policy studies study program, and the public security and safety management study program.
