Prachi Desai’s revelation, directors gave ‘absurd answers’

Calling herself ‘choosy’ when it comes to her selection of projects, Prachi says, “Since I don’t take up too many projects, people know I can reject their offers, and they are ready for it. I don’t feel pressured to say yes, and they don’t expect a definite yes from me.” However, she admits that her selective approach has sometimes worked against her. Filmmakers may have mistakenly assumed that he would not be interested in certain roles. But Prachi insists that this is no longer the case, especially with her recent work in OTT platforms, where she is open to exploring new scripts.

Reflecting on her efforts to reach out to filmmakers, Prachi revealed facing absurd responses. “I shouldn’t go to filmmakers for work just because acting is my job. With time I came to understand this. I also learned this from their absurd answers and I gained a lot. Sometimes, I was told that their films featured only home-grown actors and sometimes, they required a certain level of star to play a role. “Then I realized this was not my game,” she says. Prachi Desai’s upcoming web series, ‘Silence 2; ‘The Night Owl Bar Shootout’ co-stars her with Manoj Bajpayee. The show will stream on ZEE5 from April 16 this year.
