Portugal suffers and beats the Czech Republic in Euro 2024; CR7 started as a starter

With Portuguese dominance for almost the entire match against the Czech Republic, the Portuguese suffered, but won 2-1 in the final minutes.

This Tuesday, in the rainy weather at the Leipzig stadium, the Portuguese and Czechs took to the field in Group F.

In a first half that they completely dominated, Portugal could not open the scoring against the strong Czech defense.

The Portuguese did not take long to respond and in the 69th minute, a cross into the area that Mendes finished, goalkeeper Stanek cut it off and on the rebound the ball hit his teammate Hranac and the ball went into the net, thus Portugal tied.

Portugal’s agonizing victory came in the 91st minute, a cross from Pedro Neto into the Czech area, the defender tried to cut the direction of the service, but the rebound fell to the debutant and young Francisco Conceicao, who found himself in front of the goalkeeper and took a shot to put the ball in the nets and give the three points to his team.

Portugal’s next match will be against Türkiye, while the Czech Republic will face Georgia.
