Pope Francis rules out possible resignation

He Pope Francisco ruled out a possible resignationwhich he described as “distant hypothesis” which would only be produced by “a serious physical impairment”, although he said that when he was hospitalized some in the Vatican were “more interested in politics, in running an electoral campaign, almost thinking about a new conclave”.

“It is true that the Vatican is the last absolute monarchy in Europe, and that courtly reasoning and maneuvering often occur here, but these patterns must be definitively abandoned.“, he points out in “Life. “But this is a distant hypothesis, because I really don’t have such serious reasons to think about a resignation. Someone, over the years, may have hoped that sooner or later, perhaps after a hospitalization, I would make such an announcement, but there is no such risk: thank the Lord, I am in good health.“, Add.

But from the military coup in Argentina, when he hid three seminarians, who helped him “to welcome other young people at risk like them, at least twenty in two years” and his role in the release of two Jesuits expelled by the company and kidnapped by the regime.
