politicians blow by blow through social networks

“During his government, the complaints and recriminations were, at times, beyond what was fair and reasonable,” President Boric said yesterday in the former National Congress, during the funeral of former President Piñera. A phrase that had reactions from all sides and that keeps social network X red.
In fact, a few hours had passed when politicians from the right and the left began to react to what was said in the farewell speech.

The deputy Daniela Serrano (PC) expressed through X that “the position set by the President of the Republic is not representative of all the forces that were opposition in that context. She was followed by deputies from the same party, Carmen Hertz y Lorena Pizarro, who classified the president’s words as denialist. “Pretending that former President Piñera ‘always, always used institutional and democratic mechanisms’ is a form of denialism; as a society we cannot protect impunity and the lack of reparation for the victims,” Hertz accused. For his part, Pizarro described President Boric’s speech as “incomprehensible” and stated that “what was quite ‘beyond what was fair and reasonable’ were the murders and mutilations during Sebastián Piñera’s mandate.”
The senator Claudia Pascual (PC) also expressed his opinion: “I regret that I do not share the opinion that criticism, recriminations and demands in Pdte Piñera’s government went beyond what was fair and reasonable. The human rights violations existed and were massive and systematic at least.”
In turn, the deputy Claudia Mix (Comunes) wrote: “Maintaining respect is not maintaining silence. History must be written adjusted to reality and the truth is that former President Piñera was charged with crimes against humanity, acquitted only because of his death. Responsibilities that still persist for some of its former ministers Andrés Chadwick, Gonzalo Blumel and the undersecretaries of the same portfolio Rodrigo Ubilla y Juan Francisco Galli (…). In that popular demonstration, 400 people were mutilated and more than 30 murdered, because whoever is sanctified today by the right did not act with the prudence and respect that the people deserved. Today were the funerals of a former president whose ethical standards in his business left much to be desired. The case of Banco de Talca, Minera Dominga and Exalmar, among others, will be remembered in the history of Chile.”

For her part, the lawyer Marcela Cubillos (RN) said in President, then ask that the complaints with which the authorities of the Government of President Piñera are persecuted be withdrawn. They all come from their sector. Exercise leadership and show that you meant business.”

The response came from the PPD deputy, Helia Molina: “Be quiet! Who have you beaten? “You were the worst minister of education in the history of Chile!!!”

Deputy Daniel Manouchehri (PS) assured that Cubillos’ comments were “false”: “The social outbreak was never led by the opposition. Opposition leaders at that time could not even appear in the marches, which were against the entire political class. It was the opposition through the 15N agreement that allowed stability to be restored, giving a peaceful solution to the conflict.”

That comment received support from the President’s brother, Simon Boric, who wrote referring to Marcela Cubillos: “I very much agree, Marcela is an example of what Chile does not need: division and hatred. I hope you find inner peace.”

Cubillos’ response was: “His brother, President Gabriel Boric, endorsed, promoted, pardoned and now finances the criminals of the outbreak. Therefore, you, your brother, Congressman Daniel Manouchehri and all your friends do not try to wash your hands today of the violence you caused.”

“President Boric has lived up to the level of a head of state. His statements speak of maturity. He makes a self-criticism regarding his role as an opposition and this is something legitimate. Today we see an opposition that does nothing to help Chile. This must end, unity is required to advance the changes that the country needs,” Manoucheri stated through a public statement.

For his part, the former Minister of Social Development, former constituent and current chief of staff of the mayor Iraqi Hassler, Marcos Barraza (PC) in an interview in El Siglo stated that efforts have been made to rewrite the history and biography of former President Piñera. “His political responsibility for the serious human rights violations that occurred in Chile is unavoidable. Likewise, it is unavoidable to refer to the countless conflicts of interest that he had to live with at the same time that he exercised presidential powers. “His death is a painful situation, which achieves his exemption from the civil and criminal cases for which he was investigated, but which does not absolve him from the judgment that history and Chileans must make once the shock dissipates.” , he pointed.
