From August 17 to 18, 2024, in the Calvas canton of the province of Loja, the semifinal and final stages of the Provincial Football Championship were held, with the national teams from the cantons of: Macará, Paltas, Calvas, Catamayo, Puyango, Pindal, Olmedo and Loja, at the BI “Capitán Díaz” stadium.
Pindal managed to be crowned champion of the event after beating the team from the Loja canton in the final stage with a score of 3 to 0; in this way the southerners became entitled to second place in the Provincial Championship in the football discipline, third place went to the Macará canton; fourth place to Puyango.
On the other hand, the footballer Andy Bone Macas from the Pindal canton was designated as the Best Player and Top Scorer of the province; Fair Play Player: Snayder Miguel Carrillo (Macará); Best Goalkeeper: Rubén Chamba (Puyango). (D)
