MEXICO CITY (apro).-Photographer David LaChapelle will return to Mexico to exhibit AMOR at the Palacio de Minería, the exhibition includes the Way of the Crossa new series that breathes new life into an ancient spiritual tradition.
Photographs inspired by stories of Shakelton’s Transantarctic Expedition will also be presented, a colossal megacruise frozen in time.
The Exhibition has been organized by 212 PRODUCTIONS® in collaboration with the Mining Palace of the Faculty of Engineering, UNAM.
“His ability to capture the essence of love in all its forms and manifestations, combined with his bold visual storytelling, appeals to young people seeking an authentic voice in the contemporary art world. LaChapelle not only provides them with vibrant images to contemplate, but also a space to reflect on universal themes in the context of modern society, thus connecting with an emerging audience eager for meaningful creative expressions,” it is indicated.
Of all the photos on display, 82 have never been seen in Mexico City and 73 are visiting the country for the first time.
LaChapelle moved to New York City. After her first photography exhibition at Gallery 303, she began taking photographs for Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine.
LaChapelle’s unique point of view quickly sparked international interest, and his innovative approach to storytelling established him as one of the world’s most influential living photographers.
The exhibition will arrive in the city on May 11 and will be open until June 2024 at Tacuba 7, Historic Center.
It can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The cost of entry will be $225 pesos per person in premier pre-sale. For students, seniors and teachers the cost will be $150 pesos. People over 85 and children under 5 are free.
