On the morning of September 14, the Phap Van – Cau Gie highway (section through Van Binh commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi) was still flooded. Low-chassis cars had difficulty moving, vehicles were stuck for 5km.
Because the Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway section through Van Binh commune (Thuong Tin district, Hanoi) is still flooded, vehicles are stuck for 5km. The flooded section is about 200m long, occurring in both directions on the Phap Van – Cau Gie expressway. The lanes next to the expressway’s service road are flooded deeper than the lanes next to the median strip.
Phap Van – Cau Gie Expressway was partially congested in both directions. The road from Hanoi to the southern provinces was congested for about 5km.
Authorities have placed warning signs and arranged for guides to guide vehicles through the deep flood. The deepest section of the flood is estimated to be between 30 and 50cm.
Many people seemed quite impatient when vehicles were stuck in a long traffic jam through deep flooding.
Also here, the highway access road is flooded quite deeply, ranging from 50cm – 1m. Only trucks and high-chassis vehicles can pass through.
The highway management unit has put up barriers to prohibit vehicles from passing through the deeply flooded section of the service road.
Many residential underpasses on the route are still deeply flooded. For example, the underpass section through Noi Am residential road (Duyen Thai commune, Thuong Tin district) is flooded about 30 – 50cm.
