Petro faces TP Mazembe in the “champions” 15 years later

News from Angola – Petro de Luanda will face TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on the 29th of this month in the quarter-finals of the African Champions Clubs League, in Lubumbashi, according to the draw held on Tuesday (12), in Cairo (Egypt).

The second leg will be played on April 6th, at the Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro, in the country’s capital.

Both teams have played four games in this African competition, with two wins each.

The Tricolores won 2 – 1 and 1 – 0 in the 1988 edition, while TP Mazenzembe won 3 – 0 and 2 – 1 in 2009.

Remember that Petro de Luanda qualified undefeated, in first place, in Group C, with 12 points, without conceding a goal.

Esperance from Tunis, with 11 points, occupied second place, with 5 points, Al Hilal from Sudan came in third, while Étoile from the Sahel from Tunisia was last with 4 points.
