Peso Pluma pays tribute to regional Mexican music

Lying down, in music and in attire, the Mexican Featherweight, arrived at the main stage of the Coachella festival, held in Indio, California.

A year ago, as a guest of Mexican-American singer Becky G, Peso Pluma began his rise in the Hispanic and then international music industry.

A year after that presentation where he only served as a guest, he now participated on the main stage before Lana del Rey will perform at the closing of the first day of activities.

The Mexican exponent did not miss the opportunity to pay tribute and praise all the singers who have been part of the Mexican regional.

First, in every shout and in every slogan that he maintained throughout his show, such as: “Up with the old man, up with Mexico,” or “Up with Mexican culture, up with the corridos, up with the dick,” were phrases that Peso Pluma repeated during his concert.

Afterwards, Ángel Quezada from Guanajuato took the stage to perform “No son klle”, both rapping and dancing in front of the full stage, surrounded by fires and giant screens that replicated their movements on the stage.

Another of Peso Pluma’s guests was Arcángel, the Puerto Rican reggaeton player with whom he performed “Peso Completo” to a trap rhythm.

But to conclude his show, the Mexican decided that the ideal genre was the one that saw him reach the top of the charts on platforms, the corridos tumbados, first singing “La People”, and closing with “Lady Gaga”.

To close, Peso Pluma paid tribute to Mexican artists who have been key in the development of the regional genre, from names like Chalino Sánchez, Miguel y MIguel, Los tucanes de Tijuana, to Joan Sebastian, Valentín Elizalde, Jenny Rivera, Alfredo Olivas, Ariel Camacho, Natanael Cano, Luis R. Conriquez.
