Following coordination between the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, the Air Force will provide 150 boxes of the firefighting system
By order of the National Government, the Ministry of Defense ―through the Peruvian Air Force― and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will respond to the request for help from Bolivia with the sending, on loan, of 150 boxes of the fire fighting system Guardian to help combat the forest fires affecting various areas of the country.
The equipment was loaded onto a Bolivian Hercules C-130H aircraft that landed this morning at Air Group No. 8 along with 14 of its personnel who were also trained by personnel from the Bolivian Air Force to assemble the boxes and subsequently launch this system in emergency zones.
The trained team of the Air Force The Bolivian team is made up of pilots, flight engineers and other technicians, who received theoretical and practical training on the system in question. Each box, it was reported, has a capacity of one thousand liters.
Specifically, the Guardian fire fighting system is a device capable of transporting large volumes of water and is launched from the air. This equipment is coupled to a plane or helicopter, making it an effective means of extinguishing forest fires.
The support of the Peru It was provided at the request of the Bolivian government and was quickly implemented in cooperation with the Embassy of the Peru in Bolivia and the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs. This reflects the cooperation between the two countries in the timely response to natural disasters and demonstrates their commitment and collaborative role in disaster risk management.
In addition to these actions, our country continues to intensify air and land deployments to control the various forest fires affecting the interior of the national territory, with the support of aircraft and personnel from the Armed Forces.
