Peru is chosen as the host for the Esports World Cup

The Special Legacy Project is in charge of the logistics and infrastructure of the events

The Global Federation of E-Sports and the Peruvian Sports Association of E-Sports have signed a significant agreement to promote electronic games in Peru. This agreement marks the announcement of the first World Esports Championship which will be held at the Legado Videna headquarters in Lima.

The event, known as the Global Esports Tour Lima 2024will take place in November and will be the first world Esports event in the Peruvian capital and in America. Eight invited teams will compete in this prestigious tournament.

Besides, Lima will host the Global Esports Games 2025an event that will bring together participants from 150 countries, all competing for the gold medal in an unprecedented connection.

Peru in the eyes of the Esports world

Diego Mohme, president of the Peruvian Sports Association of E-Sportshighlighted the importance of this event, noting that countries such as Singapore, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have hosted similar events. «This places us in the global elite of the industry and our infrastructure at Legado is prepared for these events»he claimed.

For its part, Mario Cilenti, COO of the Global Esports Federationemphasized the advances of Peruvian sport and recalled the gold medal that Peru won in the Dota 2 competition at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. «Lima will have the opportunity to be in the international showcase, hosting these tournaments of international magnitude»Cilenti added.
