Peradi Ready to Guard 5 Convicts in Vina Cirebon Case Apply for PK

JAKARTA – Chairman Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) Otto Hasibuan admitted that his party was ready to help the five convicts Vina Cirebon case to submit a Judicial Review (PK). The five include Jaya, Supriyanto, Eka Sandi, Hadi Saputra, and Eko Ramadhan who have now been sentenced to life imprisonment.

Otto said that free assistance would be provided when his party had met with the convicts. Because if you want to become the attorney for the five convicts, you must obtain power of attorney from the person concerned.

“So we have asked for authorization from their families so that together with the families we can meet with the five convicts, ask whether they really want to apply for a PK or not. If they want a PK, we, the Peradi team, are ready,” said Otto in a press conference. at the Peradi office, East Jakarta, Monday (10/6/2024).

“To help, 40 lawyers were gathered there to help, the others were ready to wait for the signal, because these five convicts are applying for PK,” he continued.

For your information, family representatives of the five convicts in the Vina Cirebon case together with the former Regent of Purwakarta, Dedi Mulyadi came to the Peradi Office to ask for legal assistance. Apart from the family, four witnesses were also present at the press conference.

Based on preliminary information, the family said that the five convicts were not involved in Vina’s murder case, because they were at the home of a child from the local RT at the time of the incident on August 27 2016. The witnesses who were presented also admitted that the five convicts were indeed at the home of the RT’s children.

“That in the series of murder incidents that were committed, there was one alibi that they actually put forward. Where at the same time on August 27 2016 they were actually sleeping at the house of Mr. RT’s son,” said Otto.

Otto also said that of the four witnesses presented, two gave changing statements and two were always consistent with their statements.

But now, Otto said, all witnesses will give true statements to the police, if they saw the five convicts sleeping at the RT’s son’s house on the night of the incident.
