Jumping from a height of more than 2 meters into the sea while filming ‘Barefoot Giants 14’, director Binh Trong – son of People’s Artist Tran Nhuong unfortunately broke his tibia and had to use a wheelchair to debut the film.

At the press meeting to launch the Tet comedy film Barefoot tycoon 14, director Binh Trong had to use a wheelchair. During the past 14 years, Barefoot tycoon All have risky scenes and Binh Trong is always a live actor, there is no stuntman (stuntman), so he is very experienced in this. However, the scene filmed at Dong Chau beach (Thai Binh) was an “unexpected” situation.

“We surveyed the location of the camera, the water level was about more than 1 meter close to the beach at that time. Nearly 30 minutes later we started filming. Who would have thought that at that time the tide receded so quickly? , I jumped from a height of over 2 meters and broke my tibia,” director Binh Trong shared.

People’s Artist Trung Hieu said: “The scene where Mr. Trong fell into the sea and the brothers had to pick him up was really painful. That scene was a big scene. After Mr. Trong jumped, he was still filming, the actors stood on the shore and couldn’t see the director. I thought I was in deep acting. Cut the scene for a while and everyone shouted to the director and then went up but couldn’t see him. Looking down, it turned out he had fainted down there. Very dangerous, an unwanted occupational accident.”

Immediately, director Binh Trong was taken to the emergency room. After that, he endured the pain to film for another 5 days to complete the film.

“I am an actor and also a director Barefoot tycoon so it can’t be stopped. But strangely, as if by chance, breaking my leg in the cold season was really painful, but during the filming I didn’t feel any relief. But when the engine stops, it hurts to the core. The script had to be changed, and in the final scene of the film, my role as Mr. Doan had to be in a wheelchair.”

Director Binh Trong shared more, the story in Barefoot tycoon always associated with current issues but throughout is still a message of altruism, especially between women and their husbands. “I want to convey a message about cultural lifestyle in the family,” the director expressed.
