Penal action was imposed on businesses that do not comply with the rules in Tunceli

Penal action was taken against businesses that did not comply with the rules in Ovacık district of Tunceli.

In Tunceli, with the arrival of summer, the Provincial Directorate of Trade teams, which intensified their inspections in the districts as well as the city center, evaluated the complaints of citizens and imposed penalties on businesses that did not comply with the rules in the Ovacık district. Upon the increase in complaints about high prices in eateries, cafes, and markets in Ovacık, one of the districts heavily visited by tourists, the Tunceli Provincial Directorate of Trade teams, which intensified their inspections, inspected a total of 18 businesses, including 10 cafes, cafes, and restaurants, 4 markets, 1 butcher, and 3 patisseries in the Ovacık district and Munzur Gözeler area. Administrative sanctions were imposed on the 5 businesses, which had previously been given time to correct their deficiencies, under various headings, primarily for making sales outside the tariff.

Making a statement regarding the inspections, Tunceli Provincial Trade Director Kayahan Topal said, “Our aim is not to put our tradesmen in a difficult situation, we first give businesses that already have deficiencies a period of 2-3 weeks to fix them. If these are fixed, no penal action is taken. However, despite our warnings, we had to impose administrative sanctions on 5 businesses that did not fix their deficiencies and also made sales outside the tariff in order not to victimize our citizens. We will continue to increase our inspections at certain points throughout the summer season so that our fellow citizens do not experience any negativity.” – TUNCELİ
