ASSUMPTION- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, highlighted the relevance of the next IV Latin American Games of Special Olympics Asunción 2024, which will take place from October 4 to 12 in the country’s capital. Through his social networks, the president expressed that these games represent a unique opportunity to celebrate inclusion, sport and hope.
“The @asu2024oficial Games come to Paraguay bringing with them the emotion of sharing sport and friendship without distinctions. From October 4 to 12, Asunción will receive more than 1,000 athletes from Special Olympics Latin America who will bring with them a clear example that passion, dedication and talent know no barriers,” Peña wrote on his social networks.
The president emphasized that this event will not only mark a milestone in the sports history of Paraguay, but will also be an opportunity to show the world the country’s organizational capacity and hospitality.
In addition, Peña highlighted the positive impact that the Games will have on the local economy, placing special emphasis on tourism, infrastructure and job creation. He stressed the importance of sport as a tool for social and personal development, especially for youth, and expressed his hope that these Games will inspire young Paraguayans to adopt healthy lifestyles and achieve their dreams.
