In fact, this was just one of the attacks the 14-year-old has received from the 15-year-old who attends the same school. The first was last Christmas, when she again stubbed out cigarettes on his arm and leg. Some time later the leader of the juvenile group attacked him again and tried, as the child complains, to suffocate him with a blousewhich passed through his neck. “I had mentioned it to one of my teachers that he used to come and hit me and he did absolutely nothing”the 14-year-old emphasized.

“A group of 5 people is constantly acting against not only my principal but also other children on the occasion of something trivial”, he emphasized today speaking to MEGA, the lawyer of the family of the 14-year-old, Antonis Xylourgidis. “In this particular case, these incidents were also reported within the school environment,” he said.

As he explained, the unthinkable bowling incident took place at the Kali Gymnasium of the municipality of Skydra and it’s not the first. “The day before the same man had hit him with a ring on the forehead”he said. “The perpetrator tried to place the lit cigarette in the 14-year-old’s eye, he failed and caused a burn on his cheek” write down.

According to the lawyer of the family of the 14-year-old, the torture he was experiencing from the group of bullies, he had communicated them to the principal and vice principal of the school, who “unfortunately did not take the appropriate measures”.

“The irony is that they participate in the school activity,” says Mr. Xylourgidis of the 15-year-old bullies, who have also caused other problems at the school, attacking other students as well, but also on a recent trip to Corfu with his classmates. “Another incident has been reported by a girl. There is an extensive juvenile action. (…) The penalty has no effect, because we are talking about persistent delinquent behavior” he said.

After the complaint the 15-year-old was arrested along with his parents, who are now accused of neglecting to supervise a minor. “In the framework of the autoforos, the procedure for neglecting the supervision of a minor was initiated, but this is not enough for us,” said Mr. Xylourgidis.

As he said, the 14-year-old has second-degree burns, with the case “under investigation” and authorities looking into other student complaints. “I believe there will be other complaints of children who have been tortured,” he added.

Finally, the treatment of the 15-year-old perpetrator by his school is sensational, since according to the words of the 14-year-old victim to his lawyer: “I asked to know if the perpetrator participates in the school environment and in response to the victim, he told me “yes, but he hangs out with the teachers in a corner and they all smoke together”».
