According to the survey, Hung and the subjects found that many patients who are treating renal failure have high demand in buying and selling kidneys to graft, so they organize brokers to buy and sell kidneys to benefit.
These subjects posted an article on Facebook to find liver and kidney donation, accompanied by phone numbers for them to contact. After that, this group told people wishing to buy kidneys for 1.2 billion dong 1 kidney, and related expenses paid by the buyer.
For kidney sellers, the subjects lead them to the hospital to check, evaluate health, test the indicators for transplantation. Once the seller has been found, the buyer is eligible for transplantation, the subjects guide the seller to complete the procedure papers for organ transplantation.
After completing the purchase and sale, the subjects paid to the seller from 450-550 million VND, the remaining amount of the subjects divided benefits. Notably, subjects often change their accommodation, mainly using social networks to trade to avoid being detected by the authorities.
During the investigation process, from the beginning of 2024, Pham Van Hung and his accomplices have performed a brokerage and trading for about 25 to 30 successful pairs in large hospitals in Hanoi.
