Mohammad Hafeez took over as Pakistan’s team director at a turbulent time. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dismissed him from that responsibility.
Hafeez was given the job after Pakistan’s poor campaign in the World Cup. Then several changes came in Pakistan including leadership. Babar Azam’s resignation is one of them. Newly, Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi were given the responsibility of Test and T20 respectively. Team director Mickey Arthur, head coach Grant Bradburn and batting coach Andrew Footick also resigned at that time.
PCB was not satisfied with Hafeez as the fortunes of the team did not change even after Hafeez. Test matches in Australia and T20 series against New Zealand are among the losses.
As far as is known, this has happened on a recommendation of the sports ministry of the country. They did not want to prolong the contract with Hafiz.
