A similar example was set a year ago by Mohsin Naqvi, who became caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab. He started his career as a representative of foreign media in Pakistan, but within a few years, he joined the ranks of media owners.

His connection with politics was only that he was considered dear to the Chaudhry brothers, but his nomination as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) while in the position of the caretaker chief minister and then the important responsibility of the federal interior minister gave the elders Surprised.

He is also an independent candidate in the April elections for the vacant Senate seats.

On the one hand, appointment to important positions, on the other hand, performing two major responsibilities at the same time appears to be a challenge. In this regard, these questions are also arising, why is their importance suddenly increasing so much in the system?

According to former Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Hasan Askari, ‘Mohsin Naqvi is getting acceptance and approval in the system due to his reliable role for Nawaz League and establishment.’

Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Salman Butt said that ‘Politics and sports are two different fields. Nothing can be said about how he will run the Cricket Board with the Home Ministry.’

Two responsibilities at once

Salman Butt, the former captain of the national cricket team, while talking to Independent Urdu, said that ‘Cricket board is a vast department which can be kept better only by paying full attention to it. If the new chairman will have other major responsibilities, how can he focus on both at the same time.’

He said that ‘political or government office and sports are two different fields which have separate priorities. So it is difficult to give time to both at the same time.

Mohsin Naqvi has shown excellent performance as caretaker chief minister. But he hasn’t taken any major PCB decisions yet, which gives an idea of ​​how he will run the board. Only when they start taking steps in this regard will it be known what improvements they can make.’

Mohsin Naqvi had already taken charge of the PCB chairman and had also met the players in Rawalpindi. The main office of PCB is in Lahore, he has also chaired the meetings in his office. He has also announced that the selection of players will be based on merit and the stadiums will be upgraded.

On the other hand, as Federal Minister of Interior, he has also taken oath from the President along with the cabinet and has also taken charge of this post in Islamabad.

Importance and acceptance in the system

Former Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Hasan Askari while talking to Independent Urdu said that ‘I fulfilled my constitutional responsibility as Caretaker Chief Minister with impartiality and had separated but Mohsin Naqvi was appointed Caretaker Chief Minister for the purpose. He fulfilled what Punjab was created to do even though he had the reservations of the major political parties on him from day one.

According to him, the way he worked for the PML-N and the establishment after May 9 as the caretaker chief minister for more than a year has been in the news. So the way they acted quickly was all to build their profile going forward.’

Hassan Askari said that there are two levels in the system, one is PMLN and the other is the level of security establishment. Which would mean that they are acceptable to both. He ran the government in such a way that the objectives of both were fulfilled and he had the same policies which were beneficial for the Non-League and the establishment.

“So much is happening in Pakistan that democracy is nowhere to be seen. As long as the constitution helps, then we follow the constitution, if it does not help, some other way is taken. As long as the rollers are facilitated by democracy, it’s fine, otherwise democracy is on vacation.’

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf, Barrister Gohar, while talking to the media in Islamabad, said that ‘the cabinet of the present government also includes the people of the caretaker government, due to which this government has lost its moral status.’
