The search for bus number three in the new fleet of the Municipality of Belo Horizonte has come to an end. The collective was involved in an accident on November 28, in the neighborhood of Carlos Prates, in the north-west region of Belo Horizonte. A pregnant woman was driving the vehicle that collided with the bus at the intersection of Sabinópolis and Três Pontas streets. She was removed from the scene and taken by Samu to hospital.
The fate of the collective intrigued Internet users and was resolved on Thursday by PBH (28). The official profile of the municipal administrator on the social network X (formerly Twitter) published a photo of the vehicle being serviced in a workshop in the capital.
The vehicles went viral on the Internet after netizens gathered to search the streets of the capital for 420 new transport buses. Each of the new buses has a number printed on the back. So far, more than 80 vehicles have been “found” and registered on the Pod Ônibus profile.
The initiative to create this “sticker album” began on Tuesday evening (26/12) and has already received more than 4 million views. The user was created thanks to the podcast of the same name, created by Thiago Daniel, 20, an anthropology student at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He says the goal of Pod Ônibus is to tell listeners short stories of heartbreak that can be heard on public transport.
“The idea of creating Pod Ônibus was that every time I went to work I spent about an hour and a half on the bus to work and I was in doubt between listening to music and listening to a podcast. So I thought, ‘Why don’t I create a podcast on a topic that I have the right to talk about?'” Thiago said in an interview with State of the mines.
According to the profile’s creator, the idea for the album came after a friend tweeted a photo of the number 39 bus asking if anyone had ever seen a smaller number. Many users interacted with the publication by sharing the vehicles they saw and then, given the great involvement of his friend’s publication, Thiago thought it would be a good idea to make a collection of all the posts, which ended up trending on social media.
“It was fantastic, because people really embraced the project. The funniest thing is that people from other states started commenting: ‘Wow, guys, I’m desperate here in the interior of Pará without knowing where 3 is,’” says the profile creator regarding the repercussions of the sticker album .
