Pavel Zajíček died: Touching words of Nesvačil and Vladimír 518!

The flood of emotions and memories from famous personalities and close friends shows how big a mark Pavel left on the people around him. For example, visual artist Maxim Velčovský (47) recalls meeting Pavlo after one of the London concerts, where he could meet him in person and admire his work.

“I experienced it at a London concert in the underground crypt of some church, where Petr Štefek took me. I came to him after the concert to see if I could buy his song lyrics, which he had written on papers on the floor, because for me it was a form of a raw trampled poem written by the author, sung in a crypt, really in the underground. He told me to take it easy and we had a nice conversation about everything. I remember that moment very fondly.”

Singer Tonya Graves (54) from the band Monkey bussines she commented on this sad event simply, but in a minimalistic and sensitive way „godspeed Pavel“.

However, one of the most moving reactions was written by rapper Vladimír 518 (45).

“A person whom I respected very much has died. Pavel Zajíček, primarily associated with the music project DG 307, was a freelance creator who moved between individual disciplines without problems. He wrote poems, texts, performed on stage, and expressed himself artistically.

Many years ago, I occasionally met him in Vinohrady, he always appeared from around the corner out of nowhere, and in that brief flash of meeting I wanted to blurt out something about how his work accompanied me through puberty, how much I respect him, that I thank him for moving my own mantiles and ideas about how raw and raw music can be. But I never did it then. Firstly, there was always an aura of strictness and impenetrability around him, and secondly, I knew very well that all these legends of the pre-revolutionary underground didn’t want to hear anything about being legends. A certain type of defiance remained in them forever, and it never washed away.’

Former dissident and famous goat breeder Stanislav Penc (54) also remembered him with poetry, as did actress Petra Nesvačilová (38) together with a joint photo.

“Legendary photo. I promised Karl Schwarzenberg a sponge from my mother. Mom cooked it and then we warmed it up and it was lunch. Pavel Zajíček also arrived… His poems accompanied me throughout my studies at FAMU… Pavel Zajíček left today… This is my adolescence and now the sadness of how some people disappear.”

Pavel Zajíček may have left us physically, but his work, legacy and memories remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His death reminds us how important it is to live fully and authentically, to constantly seek truth and beauty in the world around us. Whether it is his poems, music or artwork, Pavel Zajíček left an unmistakable mark on Czech culture and history.
