Pavel in May spoke in favor of postponing the July launch of the digitization of construction procedures. He stated at the time that it would could save citizens and companies from inconvenience. Today he added that he is not happy that his arguments at the time, which stemmed from a discussion with mayors in the Pardubice region, have been confirmed.
“It turned out that they were right that the process was not prepared in detail,” he said. He hopes that the Ministry of Regional Development will quickly eliminate the problems. “Building authorities are still overwhelmed with paper applications, the digital ones will probably come later,” he added.
Would a trial run help?
Pavel repeated that the full onset of digitization could be preceded, for example, by a trial operation in one of the regions. “It is necessary for us to think for the next time, whether it would not be appropriate to test such complex processes, for example, in a pilot project in one region. Verify all problems and errors of the entire process, correct them and only then bring them to life across the country,” he said.
The Platform for a Healthy Building Act, which includes, for example, the Association of Entrepreneurs for Construction, the Czech Chamber of Architects and the Association of Developers, on Wednesday asked Pavel, Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) and members of the government to a meeting to solve the problems of digitization of construction management. They point to malfunction and unpreparedness of the systemlack of user-friendliness and a complicated interface with unclear procedures.
Bartoš: I understand the frustration of officials
Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš (Pirates) wrote on the X network today that he understands the frustration of officials, who “even without a new information system, they have a lot of work to do.” Digitization of construction management and the new construction law are supposed to solve the existing difficulties of construction management, even if the results will not appear immediately, he added. According to him, a number of problems when working with digital construction management are caused incorrect or missing user role settings at the authorities.
