Passenger bus crashes and burns in Angostura, Sinaloa; there are four dead

CULIACAN, Sin. (apro).– An accident on the Benito Juárez highway near the municipality of Angostura, just over 100 kilometers from the capital of Sinaloa, left four dead, after a passenger bus collided with the wall of containment at kilometer 81.

According to information from the State Institute of Civil Protection, an Elite line bus with number 1060 covered the route between Morelia, Michoacán and Tijuana, Baja California.

The corporation revealed that 19 people managed to get out of the bus through the windows of the burning vehicle and, of them, five suffered injuries caused during the escape.

The moment in which the passengers escaped the flames was recorded on video by users of the toll road.

After the accident, Roy Navarrete Cuevas, head of Civil Protection, announced that the injured were transferred to the General Hospital of Salvador Alvarado, a municipality adjacent to the center of Sinaloa, to receive specialized medical care.

The causes of the accident have not been made known and he explained that it will be determined through expert reports carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office.

However, according to the passengers’ versions, the driver fell asleep causing him to lose control of the unit and crash into the retaining wall.

On January 30 in the municipality of Elota, located less than two hours south of the state capital, an accident left 22 dead, after a passenger bus on the Northern line of Sinaloa collided with a cargo vehicle. and it will end up burned.
