Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a low statement regarding his country’s defense cooperation with Russia.

Publika.az informs that Viktor Sobolev, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, said this in his statement to “NEWS.ru”.

The deputy reminded that there is a military base of the Russian Armed Forces in Armenia. He responded to Pashinyan’s words that Moscow can no longer be Yerevan’s main partner in defense and military-technical fields.

“I was shocked by this statement, because in Armenia there are Russian military bases – an aviation base, a whole division. And he makes such a statement. It seems that it has completely fallen under the influence of the United States. America is also strengthening its anti-Russian activities in the direction of Central Asia, the Far East, and the Northwest. It was expected, but the statement made by Pashinyan is disgraceful,” Sobolev said.

It should be recalled that earlier in an interview with Armenian Public Radio, Pashinyan said that due to objective and subjective reasons, Russia can no longer be the main partner of Armenia in the defense and military-technical field. He noted that 95-97% of the contacts in the previously listed areas were with Russia.
