The Kazakhstan national team won a record number of top awards at the Paralympics in Paris – nine medals: two gold, three silver, four bronze, Liter.kz reports with reference to the official Astana Akimat website.
A total of 33 licenses were won in nine sports: para-athletics, powerlifting, taekwondo, table tennis, swimming, judo, canoeing, sitting volleyball and para-shooting.
”I thank everyone for showing us such respect and attention. I dedicate this achievement to Kazakhstan! This victory is common to all of us. There is a lot of work behind it. Many thanks to our coaches. Our team went to the competition as one family and won,” noted champion Akmaral Nauatbek.
The historical performance of the Kazakhstanis at the Paralympics was also commented on by the head coach of the parajudo team, Zhandos Kiyanov.
”The Paralympic Games are the most important competition of the four-year period. All teams came with strong preparation. All our athletes dreamed of winning gold. Overall, we are pleased with the team’s performance. Akmaral went down in Kazakhstan’s history as the first athlete to win gold at the Paralympics in this sport. Our other athletes won silver and bronze medals. I think this is a great achievement for Kazakh parajudo,” said the head coach of the parajudo team, Zhandos Kiyanov.
Silver medalist of the Paralympic Games in parajudo Yergali Shamei expressed enormous gratitude to the Kazakhs for their support on behalf of the entire team. It helped them a lot in the competition.

Let us recall that five athletes from the sports club “Elorda” took part in the Paralympic Games in three sports:
1. Parajudo (-48 kg) Akmoral Nauatbek, 1st place.
2. Parajudo (-73 kg) Yerali Shamey, 2nd place.
3. Parajudo (-90 kg) Arstanbekov Bauyrzhan.
4. Shooting by bribe Alieva Sevda, 12th place.
5. Para-sailing Daliev Siyazbek, 7th place.
