Paraguayan municipal authorities take refuge in bunker after attack in Israel

Five Paraguayan municipal authorities lived moments of tension yesterday in Israel, being forced to take refuge in a bunker after an attack released by that country against Iran. The Israeli government declared the state of emergency, which activated immediate protection measures for residents and visitors.

As published by the 780 AM station, the affected compatriots are the mayor of San Lorenzo, Felipe Solomon; The mayor of Paso Horqueta, Cinthia Cabañas; the mayor of Pilar, Fernando Ramírez; the communal chief of Colonia Independencia, José Requín, and the Councilor for Salto del Guairá, Claudio González.

All of them were in Israeli territory participating in an International Training Course on Municipal Management and Development, when alerts for the military offensive were activated.

Diplomatic sources reported that Paraguayan representatives are safe and in communication with the embassy. The National Foreign Ministry performs constant monitoring of the situation and maintains contact with the Israeli authorities to guarantee the security of the delegation.
