On May 25, the Police Investigation Agency of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province prosecuted the defendant and issued a temporary arrest warrant for Vo Thanh Long (20 years old, residing in Tam Phuoc commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria province). – Vung Tau) and Vu Thanh Huy (25 years old, residing in Hoa Long commune, Ba Ria city, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province) to continue investigating and clarify the murder case, hiding the girl’s body in a suitcase and bringing it up. Defendant Vu Thanh Huy was prosecuted and detained for investigation of the crime of concealing crimes and consuming property obtained by others who committed crimes, according to the provisions of Article 389 and Article 323 of the Penal Code.

Quickly conducting a verification investigation, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Police determined that Ms. T. from Can Gio district came to Vung Tau city to go out with two young men. On May 19, Ms. T. stayed at a hotel in Ward 2 (Vung Tau city) with a young man, then disappeared due to suspicion of being murdered.
Through review, the police determined that the young man staying with Ms. T. at the hotel was suspect Vo Thanh Long, so they organized an arrest.

Killing to rob property, hiding the body in a suitcase
At the police station, Vo Thanh Long admitted that through the social network Facebook, he knew Ms. T.. On May 18, Long and Huy rented a taxi to pick up Ms. T. for an outing in Vung Tau city.
After visiting Vung Tau, at around 0:00 on May 19, Long and Ms. T. returned to a hotel in Ward 2 to rest. Here, when he discovered that Ms. T. was carrying many valuable assets and jewelry, Long had the intention of killing her to rob her.
Long confessed that he used his hands to strangle the victim to death. After the victim died, Long texted Huy to inform him of the incident to discuss disposing of the funeral.

On the morning of May 19, Long went to buy a suitcase, then with Huy put the victim’s body in the suitcase and used an electric bicycle to transport it to an empty lot in Nho Mountain, Vung Tau city to dump the body.
After that, the two took the victim’s property and sold it for personal expenses. As for the victim’s iPhone 12 Promax, Huy kept it on his person until he was arrested.
