PAN members Eduardo Rivera and Mario Riestra admit defeat in Puebla

PUEBLA (apro).-After they had declared themselves winners of the race on Sunday, this Monday both Eduardo Rivera Pérez and Mario Riestra Piña, candidates for governor and mayor of Mejor Rumbo para Puebla, recognized this Monday their defeat in the urns.

The mayor with a license from the capital of Puebla accepted the triumph of his opponent Alejandro Armenta Mier, from Sigamos Hazando Historia, and wished him success in his administration for “the good of Puebla.”

“For the good of Puebla I wish Alejandro Armenta much success, that responsibility, honesty and efficiency become the flag of his government, because now more than ever unity and a safe course are needed,” declared the PAN member.

While Riestra Piña, candidate for mayor of Puebla, said that the contest in this entity was characterized by being aggressive, inequitable and violent, and that it revealed areas of opportunity for changes to the electoral legislation, so that the competition is more transparent and prevent government interference and vote buying.

“We recognize the results and personally I have always done so, at this moment they are not favorable, we do so with the honor of having participated in a contest in which we are sure that we promote people’s causes,” he said.
