To say that Palworld is off to a good start seems to be an understatement. According to the game’s official X account, this is the case “sold over 1 million copies in about 8 hours after launch” Yesterday.
The result is so disconcerting that we suspect it may be an error on the part of the Japanese studio Pocketpair, which may have included copies downloaded by Game Pass subscribers in this figure. Hopefully we’ll get some clarification soon, but even with Game Pass copies downloaded it will still be a pretty crazy accomplishment considering this is a new IP and an early access/preview version of the game.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already done so Congratulations to the team on their success at the Xand it will be interesting to see Palworld, often referred to as “Pokémon with weapons” – manages to keep up this pace, but judging by the user ratings on Steam, it seems that the only limit is your imagination.
