Palestinian Fighters Continue to Dig New Tunnels in Gaza to Ambush Israeli Soldiers

RAFAH – The lingering question, which some military analysts asked at the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, was whether the Palestinian Resistance was still actively digging tunnels?

Easy answers were not available at the time, and a full understanding of the tactics of the resistance fighters during the war would likely be known after the war was over.

However, a new Palestinian Resistance operation in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah may provide some clues to the answer.

One video, shared via a Resistance Telegram channel, documented part of the operation, which began with fighters digging a tunnel under a building.

The end of the tunnel is in the middle of the road, precisely Al-Bahar Street, which is an active route for Israeli military vehicles in the area.

A few scenes later, a large explosion occurs, and finally, the afterimage of the explosion is a large hole in the ground where the tank was reportedly destroyed.

“Al-Qassam fighters carried out a tight ambush on the Zionist armored forces and prepared a special explosive mine with a high explosive power, planted under its route after several days of surveillance on Al-Bahar Street south of Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah city,” the Palestinian fighters said.

They added, “When the troops passed by early this morning and a Merkava tank was placed on a mine, the fighters detonated it, completely destroying the tank and killing its crew. The operation to evacuate the remains of the dead soldiers and the wreckage of the tank lasted several hours.”

The Israeli massacre in Gaza continues. The Zionist occupation regime has killed more than 37,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The United States is the main supplier of weapons used by Israel to massacre Palestinian civilians.
