Pakistan’s pacers know their race today. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir did not let the Indian batsmen stand. Rohit Sharma’s team was bowled out for 119 runs with one over left by the Pak bowlers. In other words, Pakistan has to score 120 runs to return to victory.
The start of the game was delayed by an hour due to rain at the Nassau International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. After losing the toss, India could bat only 1 over. It started raining again.
After 25 minutes of waiting, the game started again. Virat Kohli got out on the field (3 off 4 balls). He was caught by Usman Khan off the ball of Nasim Shah. In the next over, Rohit Sharma was shown the way by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Haris Rauf became the Indian captain.
Then Rishabh Pant made a partnership of 39 runs with Akshar Patel. Patel scored 20 runs off 18 balls when Nasim Shah was bowled and the pair broke. Later Pant and Suryakumar Yadav made another partnership of 31 runs. Haris Rauf did not allow Surya to score more than 7 runs (8 balls).
After that the rest of the cricketers basically joined the procession. Shivam Dubey (3 from 9 balls) gave away his wicket without adding 6 runs to the team. He followed through with Nasim Shah.
Pant, who brought India close to 100 by keeping one end, had to finally return before his fifty (42 off 31). He was caught by Babar on Amir’s ball.
Amir dismissed Ravindra Jadeja (1 ball 0) in the very next ball. He was caught by Imad Wasim. In other words, India lost 7 wickets for 96 runs.
Haris Rauf made Hardik Pandya his second victim. The Indian all-rounder was caught by Iftekhar Ahmed who was fielding on the legside boundary line while hitting this right-handed pacer for a six.
Harris dismissed Jasprit Bumrah on the very next ball. He also caught Imad. Arshdeep Singh was run out in the last ball of the 19th over. The Indian innings stopped at 119 runs.
Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets each for Pakistan. Mohammad Amir took 2 wickets. And Shaheen Afridi wrote 1 wicket next to his name.
