“After returning to power in the republic in 1993, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, turned attention and care to the young generation into one of the main directions of state policy. The Great Leader, who always prioritizes the care of the growing young generation, always believes in the power of Azerbaijani youth and its potential to act as the leading force of our society, said: “The youth of every nation, every nation, every country is its today and its future. it is tomorrow, it is hope.” After the initiative put forward by National Leader H. Aliyev in 1995 regarding the organization of the youth forum, the forums of Azerbaijani youth have been held since 1996. According to the Decree signed by the Great Leader on February 2, 1997, February 2 was declared Azerbaijan Youth Day. On April 9, 2002, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Youth Policy” was adopted. “Education of Azerbaijani youth in the spirit of loyalty to the motherland is an important direction of Heydar Aliyev’s ideology of Azerbaijaniism.”
Publika.az reports that these words were said by MP Kamaladdin Gafarov in his statement to the press on the occasion of Youth Day.
The deputy noted that currently the youth of Azerbaijan has an exceptional role in ensuring dynamic development in all areas of our republic:
“Youth policy successfully implemented by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan today is an important component of the general development policy. Azerbaijan’s youth is distinguished by its active activity in all spheres of public life and plays an exceptional role in the implementation of political, economic, humanitarian and social events. As a result of the wide opportunities created by our state for the effective and creative activity of young people, this class has become the leading force of society. In particular, it should be noted that a number of important documents were signed by the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in order to provide solutions to their socio-economic problems.”
K. Gafarov spoke about the role of youth in achieving the historic Victory in the Patriotic War and said:
“One of the most important results of the successfully implemented youth policy in our country was that in September-November 2020, our heroic youths who bravely fought for the Motherland in the ranks of the Brave Azerbaijan Army wrote their names in golden letters in the newest history of our nation. It was thanks to their bravery and sacrifice that this glorious Victory restored the territorial integrity of our country, and our people returned to our historical lands after thirty years of longing. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev said in this regard:
“Today, Azerbaijani youth are an active part of our society. We can be rightfully proud of our youth. Our young people are fighting for the land, for the Motherland. Most of our martyrs were our youth. Our young people determined our military victories.” In addition to the battles for the Motherland, the youth of Azerbaijan showed high activity on the rear front and took an active part in bringing to the attention of the international community the truths about our country and the acts of vandalism committed by the occupying Armenia on our ancestral lands. It must be said unequivocally that today all Azerbaijani youth connect the future of our country only with President Ilham Aliyev. There is no doubt that in the presidential elections on February 7, our young people will demonstrate high activity and confirm their position unequivocally.”
