Our National Team beat Georgia 3-1 in its first match at EURO 2024

Our National Team, which is in Group F at the 2024 European Championship, faced Georgia in its first match of the tournament. The Crescent-Stars team started the tournament with a victory by winning the match played at BVB Dortmund Stadium 3-1.

KAAN BEAT THE POST

The national team started the match effectively and captured many positions, and came very close to scoring a goal in the 10th minute with Kaan Ayhan’s hard shot from outside the penalty area, but the ball bounced off the post.

GOAL FROM MERT MÜLDÜR FOR PUSKAS CANDIDATE

The Crescent and Stars team found the goal they were looking for in the 25th minute. Mert Müldür made a great shot on the ball cleared by the defense and sent the ball into the net, putting his team ahead 1-0 with this beautiful goal.

KENAN’S GOAL WAS Stuck OFFside

The national team increased the difference to 2 with Kenan Yıldız just 2 minutes after this goal, but this goal was not considered valid due to offside after the VAR review.

GEORGIA EQUALIZED THE SCORE

Georgia responded to Turkey with Georges Mikautadze in the 32nd minute and brought the score to 1-1. While the first half ended like this, Mikautadze’s goal went down in history as the first goal of the tournament for Georgia, which participated in the European Championship for the first time in its history.

HISTORICAL GOAL FROM ARDA

Arda Güler, the 19-year-old young star of the Crescent-Stars, put the national team ahead again with a wonderful goal he scored from outside the penalty area in the 65th minute. With this goal, Arda became our youngest player to score a goal in the European Championship finals. The national football player also became the youngest player to score a goal in his first match in the history of the European Championship, leaving behind Cristiano Ronaldo (2004; 19 years and 128 days) (19 years and 114 days).

KEREM PULLED THE PLUG

Türkiye scored another goal in the extra time of the match to consolidate the victory. Kerem Aktürkoğlu, 90+7. He pulled the plug with the goal he scored in the minute and the national team left the field victorious 3-1.
