The general coordinator of EH Bildu, Arnaldo Otegui, considers the possibility that a Government pact could be reached between EH Bildu and PNV to promote “nationalism and sovereignty”, because this movement is now “zero-sum”, but it has also opted to include other left-wing forces in it, such as PSE-EE, Sumar and Podemos, to make progressive policies.
In his opinion, it is necessary to “enable formulas that are of collaboration and cooperation that allow make more nationalist and more nationalist policies, more left-wing and more national Basque.
In an interview with Herri Irratia-Radio Popular, Otegui indicated that His training is “very calm”, and he has stressed that its trend is upwardsomething that he believes will be confirmed in the next elections.
As he has stressed, EH Bildu is trying to make an offer “that alters the alliance policies, the policies of how to govern, government, etc.” “We are trying to insist in something that from our point of view is consistent with what we also did in the general elections. In normal politics, in the conventional politics that we call, elections and their results are read in terms of political and party acronyms. We have to take one more step,” he noted.
In his opinion, we must “read exactly” what people vote for. «For us it is clear that in these elections, in these three territories, “between the PNV and EH Bildu, we are going to have a very large majority in that Parliament.”has explained.
In this sense, he has said that the Basques vote mostly “nationalist, nationalist, sovereignist, independentist, but at the same time”, he also considers there will be “a left-wing majority”, although smaller, of left-wing forces.
“The conclusion that we draw is that the majority of people want to make more nationalist policies, more self-government and more progressive policies, and the alliance policy should obey that,” he stressed.
