The press reports that the Committee on Artsakh Affairs is holding meetings abroad under the leadership of former Foreign Minister Oskanyan. Oskanyan restored the ties during his term of office, in particular with Toivo Klaar, the special representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus and Georgia’s crisis. In short, like three hundred years ago, Israel Ori was banging on the doors of European monarchs and trying to convince that there, in the East, a Christian nation was dying under the Ottoman-Persian subjugation and was begging for salvation, but soon he was convinced or was made to understand that the sun of Armenia, if it were to rise be, then, only from the North. He also went to Russia.
Vardan Oskanyan represents the “red color” of Armenia’s political palette, conventionally speaking, that he mercilessly criticizes Nikol Pashinyan for ruining relations with strategic ally Russia, undermining Armenia’s security system, inciting war, leading the country to defeat, adopting a western orientation, within these frameworks, Nagorno Karabakh of Azerbaijan in recognizing it and finally losing Artsakh.
If this concept is correct, then one of the architects of today’s status quo is naturally the European Union represented by the same Toivo Klaar. What is Vardan Oskanyan looking for in the meeting with him, if the European Union has a problem to neutralize Russia in the South Caucasus? If the press conveys Oskanyan’s problem correctly, it is the recognition of the right of collective return of forcibly displaced Artsakh residents.
Who and how will recognize that right, even if he has such a strong desire, one? Secondly, how will Russia react to this, which has declared at the level of the deputy foreign minister that the presence of the Russian military group there is a guarantee of the return of the Armenian population to Nagorno Karabakh? It is understandable why Galuzin says so. if several thousand Armenians return to Nagorno Karabakh, then Moscow will have justification for the Russian contingent to stay there.

And if Oskanian has connections in Europe or the USA from his term of office, he must also have connections in Russia. After all, he was the foreign minister of Armenia, Russia’s strategic ally, loyal to Moscow, and as an aspiring diplomat, he knows perfectly well that Azerbaijan must first recognize the collective return rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, and currently Azerbaijan-EU relations are “horzian”, Russian-Azerbaijani upwards.
In Ori’s time, no one asked if the builder of Nagorno Karabakh agreed to the rebellion against Persia, we understood. And today? Does the former Artsakh official included in Oskanyan’s delegation intend to return to Stepanakert with “certain rights”? If so, why doesn’t he discuss the issue with Ilham Aliyev’s representative, deputy Elchin Amirbekov, prefers Toivo Klaari? What would Klaar do? I say, go ahead, “check things out” with Moscow and Baku.
