Optimizing Middle East Market, Garuda Opens Jakarta–Doha Route

JAKARTA – Garuda Indonesia airline starting Wednesday (4/4) officially serves direct flights from Jakarta to Doha pp. The direct Jakarta-Doha return flight is operated through a codeshare collaboration with Qatar Airways.

Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfaniaputra said that the Jakarta-Doha flight route is a manifestation of Garuda’s commitment to optimizing the Middle East market. This is also Garuda’s effort to support the accelerated movement of foreign tourists.

“Expanding the international route flight network is one of our expansive steps in maximizing revenue opportunities amidst the high mobility of air transportation traffic between Doha and Jakarta and better,” said Irfan in a written statement, Saturday (6/4/2024).

Doha, he added, is a transit hub for foreign tourists from the Middle East which is also connected to Europe and America. Garuda hopes that the opening of direct flight routes to and from Doha will support efforts to bring foreign tourists to Indonesia.

This collaboration between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between Qatar and Indonesia. “The opening of direct flights will further open up new cooperation opportunities that can be explored by the two countries, so that it will further boost the acceleration of the national economy after the pandemic,” he added.

Irfan said, in the future, Garuda Indonesia will continue to develop cooperation with various airline partners to provide added value to society through the presence of a variety of flight route options, especially international flight routes.
