Opposition parties are trying to close ranks

After the breakdown of the coordination contract between the teams and the parliamentary group of opposition parties in the House of Representatives, as a result of “personal differences,” the Progress and Socialism Party is leading efforts to restore warmth to the relationship between the opposition components in order to strengthen their performance, as it is expected that its central headquarters will host a symposium in the presence of the secretaries-general of the four opposition parties represented in Parliament, within the coming days.

It was expected that the symposium on the sustainability of public finances would be held today, Wednesday, but the date was postponed “for reasons related to Eid al-Adha,” according to a statement by Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah, Secretary-General of the Party of Progress and Socialism, stressing that “the meeting will take place at a later date, because our party always strives and continues.” “His efforts to strengthen the common ground between the components of the opposition, and to strengthen and unify its word.”

The parliamentary groups and groups of the opposition parties (the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, the Progress and Socialism, the Popular Movement, and Justice and Development) in the House of Representatives had established coordination with the aim of strengthening their ranks before the government, but it did not last long and faded after the Socialist-Federal Opposition team left it, due to disagreements between The party’s Secretary-General, Idriss Lashkar, and his counterpart of the Justice and Development Party, Abdelilah Benkirane.

Although the previous coordination was quickly undermined, Nabil Benabdallah believes that restoring the train of consensus among the opposition components to its tracks is still possible, which he expressed in a statement to Hespress: “We approach matters from a positive perspective, and do not monitor stumbling blocks, and if we want To play this role, we must have a positive spirit.”

He continued: “We in our party seek to avoid all obstacles, whether personal or personal, and we want to strengthen the position of the opposition to advance its roles and provide an alternative to the current trend. This is a political goal that rises above all considerations, and if we want to play this role we must be positive with everyone.” .

Abdullah Buano, head of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party, confirmed the group’s presence in the upcoming meeting, preferring not to talk about the prospects of the “second attempt” to establish coordination between the components of the opposition.

Boano merely said, in response to a question from Hespress, whether the current circumstances provide the necessary conditions to overcome the differences that torpedoed the previous coordination: “You can ask me this question during the press conference that we will hold, and I will answer you.”
